| | José González!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | ] | So just two quick things to say.
I spent 43.50 on gas today! GEEZES! And I’m sure for others it is much worse. And Lectures on 15th century Finnish art that last an hour and take place in dimly lit rooms are conducive to me almost falling asleep. That hour was a lifetime.
Oh, and the third thing that I just decided to tack on to that endless list of 2 other things is...GET TO LOOKING at my journal background! It combines my two favorite things, Kurt Vonnegut and peace signs. |

| DO YOU LOVE IT? |

Remember when famous singers did benefit songs together? Yeah, fuck that shit! I like my benefit songs with all the hot indie acts. The song is called “Do They Know It’s Halloween?” and proceeds go to UNICEF. And oh god, it has been stuck in my head since I heard it last night. It’s very fun to stroll through the aisles of Wal-Mart at 1 in the morning singing, “Do the know! It’s Halloween tonight!” while en route to my now eaten frozen blackberries.
Here’s the long list of contributors! Beck, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arcade Fire, Wolf Parade, Buck 65, Feist, Devendra Banhart, Elvira, Rilo Kiley, Jimmy Tamborello, David Cross, Nardwuar, Sonic Youth, Les Savy Fav, Peaches, Smoosh, Gino Washington, Malcom McClaren, and Sum 41. Peaches and the guy from Sum 41 sing the same line. Wooof. I love it.

I’m going back to Fredericksburg on Tuesday and I’m really excited to be leaving this city. This summer was long and completely unnecessary. Nothing happened this summer. But I thought about it, and I came up with three significant things that I discovered this summer.
1. When I go running and I breathe hard I taste candy pumpkins in the back of my throat!
YUM. That’s what I call motivation.
2. Has anyone ever noticed that Chairman Kaga from Iron Chef has never been seen in the same room with the Japanese Prime Minister, Junichiro Koizumi?! Coincidence? I think not.

3. LOOK AT THESE GLASSES! I don’t care that they don’t have lenses and that they cost more than 100 dollars. I just need some 70’s sunglasses. I mean, who the hell doesn’t?

Well, I thought they were significant. While this summer was very close to unbearable (because I’m in no way dramatic), I do think it was necessary. I got Lynchburg out of my system. I had a Lynchburg colonic. The past week I’ve just been reading (finally started the fountainhead), watching reality tv, buying stuff, and nurturing my new obsession with Nico. I can’t get enough of that Nico, except when she decides to sing in german. I hate Nico in german. That’s right, stick to heroin and ditch that german. |

Only three things seem important about today:
-I have had the hiccups since 1PM and they won’t go away.
-Right before turning on to my street I was hit by a car and had to wait in the rain forever to get things sorted out.
-And I found a dried raspberry in my cheerios. I hate raspberries.
Oh, and I love the comeback. And fat actress. I’ve never seen fat actress, but I’m pretty sure I would like it. Anyway, Lisa Kudrow is fierce in her pastel track suit!

I NEED TO GET OUT! Summer break has barely started (3 weeks) and I am dying. I can’t take much more of this city. LOOK AT WHAT IT HAS DONE TO ME!!
Before coming back to Lynchburg:
A little squinty, but nothing to be concerned about.
Now look at this: After coming back to Lynchburg:

AHHH!
I just want to get my job(s), make money, buy a lot of furniture from ikea, and go party in my apartment with my one existent roommate and my soon to be existent (hopefully) roommate. |

Fuck using an lj cut. You bitches got to look at these now.
Yesterday: Me and Manda decided to go back to the train tracks and take some pictures!
This is our Sam impersonation. Do you love it?

You know I’m on the right side of the tracks. You know I couldn’t think of anything funny to say about this picture.

This is Manda thinking seriously about deforestation, air pollution, and cock

and this is me rolling in the grass.

the cutest kids ever:

I know you can’t tell, but we left the train tracks and went to play in a cemetery. Corpses turn us on.

And on a completely unrelated note, that fucking “Burger King” is a creep.

I’m done. I’m so done. |

So I have decided that whenever I stay up all night to write a paper or for any reason at all I will not resort to No Doz. I feel so uncomfortable, and my heart won’t slow down. It’s scary. From now on I will just get my caffeine fix from ridiculously large amounts of diet code red. With code red I’ll get the energy without feeling like I need to vomit.
No more of these:

I stood up and made my bed at 5:25 in the morning; the bed hadn’t been slept in (I hadn’t gone to sleep). I put on some chapstick and picked up my mp3 player; I put on Rachel’s. I left the dorm at 5:30 to meet Donna, because we wanted to watch the sunrise.
I walked across the sleeping campus and found Donna under the arch beside the campus center. We walked back and forth to each end of campus trying to figure out where the sun would rise. We waited for an hour, but the sun didn’t show; it didn't really matter. This morning I had frozen fingers, conversations with Donna, and the permanent memory of a gray morning sky; we don’t need the sun.

| | lint-free - blue eyes | ] | Sleep is nowhere in sight. I’ve had 2 liters of diet code red (I’m pulling a Ryan). I feel ridiculous. I’m sitting in my bed watching adult swim, and researching a giant Buddhist stupa for a huge paper. Buddhist art and ridiculous jokes about poop; they fit together so well.
p.s.- I bought the Ewoks movies and Pippi Longstockings on dvd this week.
p.p.s.- Pippi has songs, and I already know the words. |
